Irish National on cards for Stewarts
Stewarts House produced a fine front-running performance to land the Carrickmines Handicap Chase at Leopardstown.
Paddy Flood 's mount had his rivals struggling turning for home and kept on well in the closing stages. Arbor Supreme emerged as a threat on the run-in but the Arthur Moore-trained gelding had plenty in reserve to record a length-and-three-quarters victory.
"I'm very happy with that performance. He did used to have a tendency to jump out to the right but has got out of that," said Moore.
"He always ran well here over hurdles and is settling better now. I'm thinking of the Irish National after that.
"It depends on the top-weight but he could get himself into it near the bottom. There is not a lot else here for him.
"There is the Topham at Aintree or maybe Punchestown. He might even be a Galway Plate horse as he goes on good ground."
