Roseriver Has stayed on stoutly to give Noel Meade and Colin Keane a winner in the extended mile and a half maiden on Tipperary's card.

The five-year-old grey gelding was on the shoulder of Days Without End turning in and was given the office by Keane with a furlong and a half to travel.

He was kept up to his work to see off Great Trango by a length and a quarter at 4/1. He brought up plenty of winning wagers having been as big as 10/1 in the morning.

Great Trango (5/2) was doing his best work at the finish. He was half a length up on third-placed Days Without End the 13/8 favourite.

Noel Meade said: "I'm delighted with him. The good gallop suited him and he'll go a little further probably.

“He'll probably run in a handicap at some stage but I think his next run will probably be over hurdles.

“He's not over-big and that's sort of why we went back to the Flat. We thought after his last run that he could win a maiden. He wasn't far behind the favourite the last day.

“Nina (Carberry) said when she won a bumper on him that he doesn't like being hit. I said it to Colin and he didn't, he said you're probably right and it was a help.

“He'll jump fences in time too, he's big enough to do that. He's not huge but he's big enough to do that.”

This was a 10th winner in the last three weeks for Meade - eight National Hunt and two on the Flat.
