Aftermath brought up a quick-fire double for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore at the Curragh with a powerful display in race two - the Fitzpatricks Mercedes-Benz Irish EBF Maiden over seven furlongs.

The Justify colt brought strong form to this maiden having taken the runner-up spot in a Newbury maiden before finishing third in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.

Once Moore sent him past Storm Piece a furlong and a-half down, the race was as good as over.

The 5/6 favourite galloped on relentlessly to score decisively by five and a-half lengths. Newcomer Glenderry came through for second at 33/1. He was a length and a-quarter up on Lady In Paris (18/1).

O'Brien said: “We're delighted with him. He had a lovely run first time in Newbury, he was very green and got left by himself. He ran a lovely race in Doncaster, he's a lovely horse.

"A big horse to look forward to for next year. That was only seven (furlongs) and he'll have no problem getting a mile or a mile-and-a-quarter even next year. He's a fine, big horse.”

When asked if he could run again this season he added: “He's had three runs, so we'll see how he is.”
