The 2/1 favourite Humble Glory put her experience to good use in the BetVictor Irish EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Three times runner-up in similar contests and fourth to previous race winner Churchstonewarrior when last in action at Sligo, Davy Russell’s mount tracked the leaders before taking up the running two out from which point she stayed on well to account for Broomfield Hall (16/5) by a length and three quarters.
The 6-year-old, a bumper winner at Punchestown last New Year’s Eve, was getting off the mark on her seventh start over hurdles.
Winning trainer Gordon Elliott commented: "In fairness to her she was unlucky one day in Clonmel (in the lead when fell at the last) but it was grand she got her head in front.
"She was tough and Davy gave her a good ride.
"She is a staying mare and will jump a fence next year."
