Hoban lands first winner on Ivy

10lb claimer Conor Hoban posted his first victory aboard Just Like Ivy in the 1m6f handicap at Wexford.

The 18-year-old Westport native, who is attached to Michael Halford, drove his mount to the front a furlong-and-a-half out and kept her going to hold the late surge of Clear Riposte

Winning trainer Paul Magnier is hoping the handicapper isn't too hard on his charge: "She was a cheap horse and the handicapper surely can't do much with a 10lb claimer riding. We'll look for something similar."
