The Michael Halford trained Katiymann justified 9/4 favouritism to win the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap at Dundalk this evening, scoring under a cool ride from jockey Conor Hoban.
Hoban held the Paul Rooney owned gelding up in last and the pair made rapid headway to lead traveling well under two furlongs out. The son of Shamardal went on to score a comfortable length and three parts of a length success over Glstonbury Song.
Halfordwas later singing the praises of winning jockey Hoban and said “it was set up lovely for him there as they went a good gallop and he settled lovely for Conor and that's the way to ride him. When it sets up like that for him he's a good horse around here and he goes on the surface really well.
“I'm delighted for Conor as he works very very hard for us all through the year and I maybe don't get to give him as many opportunities as he deserves. He does very little wrong and is a great team player.
“I'm delighted for Paul as well as he's a great owner.”
