He made a couple of mistakes on the way round but when Paul Townend needed him he was good over the last two as Voix du Reve (2/1 into 6/4 favourite) triumphed in the Grade Two Betway Craddockstown Novice Chase.
Andrea and Graham Wylie's six-year-old went from the front in the Punchestown highlight, and he was there to be shot at by Hardline (2/1 into 7/4) and his Willie Mullins stable companion Cadmium (15/8 out to 5/2) in the straight.
Try as they might they couldn't land a blow on Voix du Reve who asserted on the run-in to score by seven lengths and two lengths.
“I'm very pleased with him,” said Mullins.
“He probably wasn't as sharp as he was in Galway. Paul just thought the bigger fences and bigger track just made a difference. It just takes a bit more jumping around here than Galway.
“I'll try and keep him to that kind of trip.
“I'd imagine we'll go for something at Christmas. We'll keep him to the minimum trip and we may look at the Racing Post Novice Chase. I don't know if he's good enough to do that.
“I don't think there is anything in Limerick and we'd like to keep him on better ground.”
