There was a quick Tramore double for Rachael Blackmore as in the Gigginstown House Stud silks the 2016/17 champion conditional landed the DFL Construction Ltd. Handicap Hurdle aboard Schmidt
Recently back after breaking her nose, Blackmore dictated things to a nicety from the front here, and her mount, representing local trainer Henry de Bromhead, held Littlestickarubarb by three parts of a length.
Thirty five minutes before Blackmore won on Andrew McNamara's Torcello following on a win for her boyfriend Brian Hayes in race two on Model Cloud
"I''m delighted with that. He was tough, showed a good attitude and kept finding," said de Bromhead.
"Hopefully he'll get a bit further in time.
"I'll see what the lads want to do, he might go over fences now or he could stick to hurdling, I'm not quite sure what we'll do.
"He is a nice horse and whatever he does over hurdles he'll be a far better horse over fences.
"Rachael was brilliant on him, she had the rail. She said if she rode him again she would probably have made a bit more use of him earlier.
"She was spot on today, and he kept finding for her."
