Gordon Elliott's Bull Ride showed improved form to pop up at 12/1 in Wexford's two mile maiden hurdle.
Keith Donoghue 's mount raced on the outside of Slemish and Billy De Kid before taking a narrow advantage entering the home straight.
In-form Donoghue asked him for more as he came to the second last.
The pair rose at the last with Slemish on terms on the inner and Billy De Kid just behind in third in the middle.
Bull Ride was kept up to his work to see off Slemish (8/1) by three parts of a length with 7/4 favourite Slemish a neck back in third.
Keith Donoghue said: "He gave me a good feel the day in Navan and I thought he would have improved from it. His run after that wasn't great but maybe he was just a bit weak and he felt a different horse today.
"Gordon said to ride him handy and he probably thought that he'd come on for the run. It's a little bit unexpected but it's grand. He was only getting going there and I'd say he'll be an even better chaser.
"That's five or six winners in the last two or three weeks and that's probably more than I had put together over the last two seasons."
Bull Ride's last two appearances saw him finish fifth in Navan and eighth at Ballinrobe.
