He pulled up in a soft ground Kilbeggan handicap hurdle three weeks back but My Direction was back in tip top shape to carry off the Dundalk Stadium — Light Up Your Night Handicap.
Another for the formidable Holden outfit in County Kilkenny, the Singspiel gelding was sent off at odds of 20/1 for this mile and a half assignment.
Five pound claimer Oisin Orr was entrusted with the steer on the chestnut, and he again showed why he'll have many good days to come granted some luck.
Orr drove My Direction to a neck and a length and a quarter win over the finishers, Jaqen H'Ghar and Spruce Meadows
My Direction raced in rear of mid-division before launching his bid when slightly hampered two furlongs out.
Owned by winning trainer Ellmarie Holden's mother, Catherine, My Direction led over a furlong out.
Soon ridden, he kept on well in the final furlong. His advantage was reduced close home but he held on.
Ellmarie Holden said afterwards: "He wasn't running that well on the Flat so we put the cheek-pieces on to help him a bit.
"Oisin won on him here before so he likes the place, and he'll probably come back here in two or three weeks. The ground is probably gone for him now over hurdles."
The Stewards enquired into interviewed Mr. K. Murphy, authorised representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Jagen H'Ghar, Felix Mendelssohn Eagle Spirit and Wooster regarding the late arrival of all four horses into the Ring prior to this race.
Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative.
Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards fined the trainer €400 (€100 per horse) through his representative for a breach of Rule 32 (ii).
