It was all to play for racing to the final fence in the MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Beginners' Chase, but long-time leader Convara came down leaving the challenging 5/4 favourite Davids Charm to come home six lengths ahead of Pass Hymn
Given all his high-class Hurdles and Flat form, and the fact that Phillip Enright hadn’t really gone for him at that point, the favourite would more than likely have collected in any event.
It was an eighth career victory for Davids Charm, making a winning chase debut at the age of nine.
Winning trainer John Joe Walsh’s son Brendan remarked: "He was just starting to get going when the other horse fell. We had a lot of schooling done with him and he was jumping great but you can't beat having a race.
"We couldn't ask for much more today; he's rated too high over hurdles and will probably run over fences at Galway next.
"Dad went racing to Kilbeggan on Friday but my young lad Darren leads up the horse and came with me today."
