Jungle Prose ran out a comfortable winner of the Premier County Mares Handicap Hurdle, on what was just her second start for Gordon Elliott.

Previously trained in the UK by Nick Gifford and successful at Warwick in 2020, the daughter of Yeats made her debut for current connections at Gowran last month, finishing fourth of 11 behind Don't Doubt Me when sent off a joint-favourite.

Returned a 10/3 chance this afternoon, the seven-year-old was settled in second by Jack Kennedy and was slow over the first.

She improved to lead at the third last and was ridden when strongly pressed by market rival Natural Look (2/1f) at the next.

Ultimately, five-and-a-half lengths split the pair at the line, with the winner staying on strongly from the last in the colours of the Bull On Syndicate.

.Camilla's Choice, who came in for some market support (20s early, returned 15/2), completed the places another eight-and-a-half lengths back in third.

"She didn't jump great in Gowran the last day and today the leader had a good look at the first so my one started looking too," Kennedy revealed.

"Once we straightened out, she jumped very well after that.

"The cheekpieces helped as she didn't jump or travel great at Gowran and today she had plenty room and did it well. Hopefully she can go on and win another couple."
