Closing races double for Fran Berry

Jockey Fran Berry completed a closing races double at Leopardstown today on the Jessica Harrington trained Gambling Girl in the Leopardstown Club Membership Maiden.

Half an hour earlier, Berry was successful on Pacelli Road and following Gambling Girl's win, Harrington stated “she ran great the last day when the ground went a bit soft on her and I'm delighted to get her back as she had a few bad runs and we weren't sure what was wrong.

“She had two bad runs over hurdles and we were scratching our heads a bit but at Cheltenham in April they over-watered the ground and she didn't like it.

“We'll take it as it comes and keep running as long as the ground is good or good to firm and she might go back over hurdles.”
