Noel Dooly doesn't know much more about Coolfighter than what he eats for breakfast but the gelding, claimed by the trainer just two days ago, proved money well spent when landing the Blue Moon Still Rising Rated Race at Tramore today.
Coolfighter was claimed for E10,000 from trainer Tony Mullins' yard after winning at the venue on Thursday and readily followed up in today's E6,555 to-the-winner contest, setting himself up to make projected profits on investment within the next 24 hours.
Following today's win, locally based Dooly revealed “I don’t know much about him but he'll run tomorrow in a maiden hurdle. “I only brought him home Thursday night and gave him bed and breakfast and brought him back here today and that's about it!”
He added “I was at home on Thursday evening when the boys claimed him and gave me a ring. Between the jigs ‘n’ reels with HRI we got everything in on time and we were allowed to run him today.
“He did it easy and Seamie (Heffernan, today's winning jockey) said he just needs to be filled with plenty of confidence. We're not going to lose anything by not coming back here tomorrow and looking back on his races, he jumps well. He'll come back, once he eats up!"
