Cherokee another all the way winner
Cherokee Brave became the third horse of the day to make all, as he landed the Tommy Carmody Lifetime in Racing Maiden for the father and son team of Aidan and Joseph O'Brien.
The 3yo son of Montjeu, ran his best race to date on his last start at Leopardstown when pushing winning favourite Forever Glory all the way to the line, having made most of the running.
On his fourth start today, the winner soon led and went clear, his advantage was reduced as runners turned into the straight, but the Even money favourite was ridden to assert over a furlong out, going on to score by five lengths at the line. Jazz Girl ran a cracker on her debut for Andy Oliver finishing second at 14/1, while Clonbur was a further four lengths back in third at 13/2 for his trainer Tommy McGivern.
Cherokee Brave was the only horse representing Aidan O'Brien today, which is unusual for the Champion trainer at Headquarters.
Winning rider Joseph O'Brien said afterwards: "He raced a bit lazy in front. He did it well and was entitled to win.
"I gave him a little breather turning in."
