Casla wore down Curly Girl to win going away in the mile maiden for three-year-olds plus in the Curragh. Aasheq the well backed 11/4 favourite led but was passed by Curly Girl who set sail for home two and a half furlongs out.

She readily asserted for Declan McDonogh a furlong and a half from home but Casla was beginning to find top stride in second under Chris Hayes.

The writing looked on the wall for Curly Girl in the final furlong as Casla loomed large and so it proved as she picked up the leader in the final 100 yards and kept on well to score by three lengths at 6/1.

Curly Girl rewarded her each-way backers at 12/1 having been as big as 33/1 in the morning. Bowden (4/1) was a length and three quarters further back in third. Aasheq weakened to seventh.

Trainer Fozzy Stack said: “She did it nicely and learned a lot from Leopardstown. She is a good, tough, honest filly and should stay further as her mother (Front House) won a South African Oaks. We will try to get her some black type.”
