Adam Caffrey was seen to good effect when following up a winner at Dundalk yesterday by landing the Larkin’s Francis Sheahan’s Claiming Race at Killarney aboard Rosie Rock
Caffrey rode his third career winner on Harry’s Bar on the all-weather yesterday but is still able to claim a valuable 10lb for a couple of days. Cedar Rapids headed the front-running Stamp Of Authority inside the final quarter mile but was in turn headed by Rosie Rock over 100 yards out.
The Ado McGuinness-trained filly kept on well to score by three-quarters-of-a-length from Eastern Racer who denied Cedar Rapids the runner-up spot.
McGuinness said, "Adam's 10lb claim went yesterday, he is a good kid and is riding with confidence.
"She is one of those fillies that will pop up once or twice a year and is a good fun filly. The owner wants to sell her and she is there for anyone who wants her. She is genuine enough and will always get a couple of races every year.
"Tom Heatrick, the owner, is from Armagh and also bred her and is a good man who has had plenty horses with me through the years."
The winner was later claimed for €7,000 by James McAuley.
