Braddock Lands Gamble
Backed down from as big as 14/1 this morning and from 4/1 into 11/4 on track, Braddock justified the confidence under Seamie Heffernan for Shane Donohoe in the first split of the Limerick Junction Handicap.
In front before the straight, the five-year-old with the aid of first-time cheek-pieces and a tongue-tie, was soon ridden clear, on the way to a comprehensive three and a half length success over Titus Academy
The previous three-time winner cross-channel, was bringing to an end a sequence of form figures reading 000, after making a respiratory noise, hanging badly and bursting a blood vessel last time, at the Curragh in August.
Wife of the successful trainer, and triumphant owner, Samantha Donohoe said: "He has been crying out for really soft ground and the lower grade race was a big help."
Braddock was a 125,000 guineas yearling but Shane Donohoe purchased him for just 13,000 guineas last year.
