Ivy Avenue doubled up after her Killarney win twelve days back in the MansionBet Supporting Irish Racing Apprentice Handicap at Gowran.
It looked unlikely for the Jim Bolger runner as Luke McAteer was after her with only quarter of a mile gone by.
Ridden and making progress in the centre of the track two furlongs out, Patricia O’Rourke’s progressive three-year-old was fourth a furlong and a half out and she pressed the leader a furlong out.
Keeping on inside the final furlong Ivy Avenue led in the last fifty yards to beat Tio Esteban by a length and a half.
The runner-up certainly deserves credit for his effort as he kept up the gallop well after being six lengths clear at the halfway stage in the testing conditions.
Bolger's travelling head-man Ger Flynn said: “It’s nice to get another win for Patricia and Colm (O’Rourke) with the filly. She’s progressing well.
“She loves the ease in the ground and hopefully we’ll find something for her again.
“They went a good gallop and it looked like she was idling a little up the straight. She’s versatile trip wise and could go another two furlongs no problem.”
The Stewards interviewed A.C. Persse, rider of Miss Adventurous concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that A.C. Persse was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
