Rightback Atya skipped clear from the second last to run out a very easy winner of the three-mile handicap chase at Navan.

Philip Rothwell 's charge was always to the fore and was in front going out on the final circuit as Hand Of The King relinquished his advantage by jumping right.

James O'Sullivan 's mount had his rivals in trouble at the penultimate fence and the 7lb claimer didn't need to ask any questions as the ten-year-old went on to pop the last and record a -length success.

15/8 favourite Bandon Bridge stuck on to claim the runner-up spot.

The winner had finished fifth at Limerick over Christmas having fallen at the second last previously at Clonmel when still in contention.

“At Limerick the ground didn’t help but it was looser today. He got his own way in front and James gave him a super ride,” said Rothwell.

“It was a very poor race but it’s great to get a winner again.

“His American owners, Eustace Theodore and Karen Anderson, have been great supporters.”
