Again dominates in Debutante
Again pulled away in the closing stages for a comprehensive win in the Debutante Stakes at Leopardstown as Cuis Ghaire proved a major disappointment in the Group 2 event.
Johnny Murtagh produced Again to challenge in the straight and after getting the better of a duel with Rare Ransom the David Wachman-trained filly pulled away for a three length winning margin. Oui Say Oui stayed on well for second but Cuis Ghaire was one of the first beaten, struggling from three furlongs out and being eased in the straight.
Wachman missed the victory as he was just arriving home from sales in Deauville but said by phone: "She's in all the big fillies races and we'll see how she comes out of this before we firm up plans for her.
"She's a nice filly who handled the ground well. She has been coming forward well since her debut in Roscommon."
Murtagh predicted a bright future for the winner saying: "The Moyglare in a couple of weeks would seem ideal for her. She's a big scopey filly and might develop into an Oaks filly."
The winner was introduced at 16/1 for next year's 1,000 Guineas by Boylesports.
Cuis Ghaire was reported to be clinically abnormal post race.
