Trainer Ger Lyons completed a treble at Fairyhouse today, which including the featured Brownstown Stakes, in the concluding Next Racing At Fairyhouse September 27th Race with Royal Ascot also-ran Lustrous Light
Lustrous Light, seventh in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, made all today to beat Cook Islands by two and a half lengths, with a long break back to third and last placed Zalfana
Lyons teamed up with Lustrous Light’s jockey Colin Keane to win the opener with Noivado with Gary Carroll steering Queen Catrine to win the featured Brownstown Stakes.
Following the win of Lustrous Light, Lyons stated "I like him but he's not the finished article. He has a good attitude and Colin said he loved it out there in front.
"The trip to Ascot did him no harm, probably helped to man him up a bit and he wants nice ground and minimum of a mile and a half. The future will be rosy with him and he'll get further as he gets older. You can't have too many Galileo's and he's a nice one to have.
“It’s been a lovely day's work!”
