Punters in love with Peace
Followers of morning price movers were in clover after Lovers Peace – available at 10/1 earlier in the day – came home strongly to take the galwaybayhotel.com and radissonhotelgalway.com Handicap at odds of 11/2.
One of just two Flat horses in training at Castlelyons, Co. Cork with Edmond Kent, the Oratorio filly stayed on gamely in the straight to peg back Gentleman Duke (10/1) and score by a length and a quarter. Regal Tramp (14/1) was another two lengths away in third.
It was a welcome change of fortune for Danny Grant, who only returned last Friday after a month on the sidelines with an injured ankle. “I got a nasty gash on my ankle at the start of a race in Naas when another horse's teeth caught me. This filly stays really well, and the further she goes the better. We were quite confident today with a mile and a half on this track.”
The 11/2 winner was another success for the Whispers section on this site, following on the heels of recent winners Remember Alexander (7/1) and Grace And Beauty (8/1).
