Magic Mullins dominant at Punchestown
Turnandgo impressed in the Punchestown finale under Patrick Mullins

The five horses that did it for Closutton on January 30th 2011 at this venue were the now ill-fated Golden Silver, Some Target Gagewell Flyer, Raptor and another one that unfortunately subsequently met his 'waterloo,' Celtic Folklore. Twinlight Quevega Arvika Ligeonniere Upsie and Turnandgo were today's 'famous five' for the training sensation at the home of Irish National Hunt racing.
Turnandgo was impressive at Clonmel on his previous win and he cemented the impression that he's a name we'll be hearing a lot more about when sluicing home in the Kildare Post INH Flat Race under Patrick Mullins.
Gigginstown House Stud own the Colm Murphy-trained victor earlier on the programme, Rye Martini and they also own Turnandgo, who changed gears from over a furlong out to go away and beat Captain Cutter by nine lengths.
Unsurprisingly Mullins likes this fellow and he said: "I thought he was a serious horse earlier in the year and he had a little bit of back trouble.
"David Thomas, the lad who led him up, has done a lot of work with him.
"David has done a good bit of eventing in his time and his extra work on Turnandgo has built him up.
"He's improving all the time and he'll probably go out to grass now and come back over hurdles.
"Patrick said he was as lazy as sin and that there was so much more left in the tank.
"It's absolutely magic having a five-timer here today and I have a great team behind me."
It's also worth noting that if Marito had jumped better in the first, Mullins could have had six. (AM & EM)
