The first winning favourite of the 2012 Galway Festival arrived in race number ten when Voleuse De Coeurs sluiced home by eight lengths in the Topaz Handicap under Pat Smullen.
Dermot Weld 's fourth winner following yesterday's treble, Voleuse De Coeurs was nicely supported too. Lady O'Reilly's three-year-old daughter of Teofilo found 9/2 from 6/1 on track. Domination the runner-up, was popular 'in the ring' too, hardening into 5/1 from 8s but he had no answer to Voleuse De Coeurs from under two furlongs out. There was a further seven lengths back to the third-placed Takeyourcapoff
Weld of course victorious in the feature on day one with another Lady O'Reilly-owned filly, Midnight Music, said: "I was concerned she wouldn't handle the ground being a 3yo but she got a lovely ride from Pat.
"The plan was to ride it like a National Hunt race - to get her switched off - and there are few better at doing it than Pat.
"She had the race won a long way out.
"She wasn't beaten that far at Killarney the last day and she was always going to improve going further.
"I love my horses to be down at the bottom of two mile handicaps and if she got the trip I knew she'd be hard to beat." (TW & EM)
