FormscanBy Gary Carson - YOSEMITE VALLEY wasn't stopping over the stiff seven at the Curragh last time and a mile around a bend here shouldn't be an issue. The Shamardal half-brother to Irish Derby runner-up Piz Badile has been campaigned at six and seven to date but powered through the line when winning the Gladness Stakes last time and looks progressive. Bold Discovery has the top rating of 109 and is a smart horse on his day. He was a good winner of the Celebration Stakes at the Curragh over a mile on good ground last year and is entitled to play a big part. Knight To King couldn't match Sunchart in very testing conditions at Naas on his return and may fare better now.

Quotes on Bold Discovery (USA)
That’s what he was showing us earlier in the year. He had allergies and kept scoping wrong after his races but we’ve been able to treat them since the Guineas and he’s alright now. He loved going around that bend and for a big horse he goes on that quick ground. That was really good and I’d say he will come forward from that and get a bit of confidence. After Bold Discovery (USA) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 2nd Jul 2023 1m Flat Good

He is a lovely horse and will run in what races are available to him in Ireland for the rest of this year. He didn't have a hard race there and hopefully he'll be back in the big time next year. After Fiscal Rules (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Tue, 29th Sep 2020 7f Flat Maiden Good to Firm

Quotes on Knight To King (IRE)
He's a really nice colt, he had been working exceptionally well. All the family take a little bit of time and we're in no hurry with him,. He's come forward in the last few weeks. He's a very good-actioned horse, so I didn't bother with him in the spring on heavy ground. Please God, we've lots to look forward to. It's a great family for us and he's always shown us talent. He was very immature, mentally and physically but he's coming forward nicely. I'll have a chat with Maurice Regan and we'll decide where we go with him. I won't make any decision until I see how he comes home and comes out of the race. Obviously, we'll go into stakes level with him now, there are many ideas in my mind. He's very straightforward and I said if there was no pace to make the running on him. The one thing we didn't want was a messy race with no pace. He was out there in front, he has a lot to learn. I think he jumped the road and Chris said he looked at everything. He'll learn a lot today and he's a real good colt in the making. He quickened up the Old Vic the other day like a horse that would be very effective, even, over six furlongs. After Knight To King (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Mon, 5th Jun 2023 1m 1f Flat Maiden Good

Quotes on Power Under Me (IRE)
That’s more like it, but Colin said it turned into a bit of a sprint which probably suited him and maybe gives a false reading on the horse. He’s probably between trips, not an out-an-out miler and not quick enough for the proper sprints anymore. He loves the ground and you can see that with his conformation and his action. I thought that type of race was within his remit, but his last two runs didn’t fill me with any confidence. Seven furlongs to a mile and Listed or Group 3 is his thing. You will never see him on anything quicker than good to soft. The only negative is that Vincent (Gaul, owner) is not here today as he’s at home at a house party. He loves his racing and it’s a pity he’s not here to see him. After Power Under Me (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Sun, 7th May 2023 1m Flat Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Real Appeal (GER)
He chipped a bone in a knee earlier on in the year and we had to give him time off. Ger Kelly down in Fethard did a great job with him. You're scratching your head saying 'will he come back or will he not?' Fair play to the horse, class is permanent. We were hoping to take this horse to Doha, that was the plan to go back again, and we couldn't because he was injured. This will make up for it and we will find something for him. He needs good ground, so we said we would come here. We'll see what way the ground is and we will take it from there after that. After Real Appeal (GER) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 8th Mar 2024 1m Flat Standard

Quotes on Yosemite Valley (GB)
We always thought he was a smart horse and, to be fair, it's been a long road back for him. There are a lot of people that have put in a lot of hard work to get him here so it's great to get him back. We always thought he was a group horse and obviously he had group form at two. I think there is a conditions race over seven back here in a few weeks. He could run in that and then we'd put him away for the year and maybe look at stakes company next year. I think seven furlongs or a mile is probably his trip. After Yosemite Valley (GB) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 23rd Sep 2023 6f Flat Maiden Yielding to Soft
