Zoffaniya (5/4f) was the well backed winner of the concluding Sligo Races Maiden at Sligo this evening as the Seamus Fahey trained filly scored a comfortable seven lengths success under jockey Gary Carroll.

The daughter of Zoffany is out of a Galileo-sired mare and afterwards Fahey said “Maeve Hamilton Al Aidarous (wife of winning owner Awn Al-Aidarous) bred her and was actually born in Sligo and her relations are here with her this evening.

“Meave was delighted that we were running her here, and she’s absolutely thrilled.

“Gary said we could step her up in trip again. We may not run her for a while as she’s had three quickish runs. We’ll see what the handicapper does with her, and I’d say she is versatile ground wise.”
