Trainer Andy Slattery will send Sunchart to contest Saturday's Ebor Handicap with the six-year-old expected to improve from a recent prep run at Naas.
Sunchart has won just once but has finished second on nine occasions, including six times at stakes level and is currently rated 103. He is a 33/1 chance for Saturday's York feature race and Slattery says “Sunchart goes for the Ebor and hopefully we’ll get a bit of rain.
“We let him off for five weeks after running in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester and he’d a lovely run back at Naas last time. He would have needed that after the break and he seems in good form.
“He hasn’t run in a handicap for a long time so we’ll see how that goes and any rain that falls will be a help.”
Regarding four-year-old filly Flame Of Eire, which completed a four-timer of handicap wins last year, he added “she just wasn’t right early in the season and she had some surgery for kissing spines.
“She’s back now and seems to be working well. She’ll work this week and if she works well hopefully she’ll run in the Snow Fairy (Stakes) in the Curragh at the weekend.”
