Eddie Lynam reports his stablestar Romantic Proposal in good form and on target for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Keeneland next month.

The Raven’s Pass mare has won six times and enjoyed her finest hour last year when landing the Group 1 Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend.

The six-year-old got the current campaign off to a bright start with an impressive victory in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Woodlands Stakes at Naas in April but hasn’t shown her best in just two outings since.

She finished towards rear in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket and was reportedly struck in mid-division when seeking a repeat victory in the Flying Five.

“I haven’t done a great job with her this year. She started out great but she’s had a few hiccups,” confessed Lynam on Racing TV.

“She’s in good form and the plan is the Breeders’ Cup Sprint.

“Steve (Parkin, owner) has been very sporting. She won a Group 1 last year and he put her back in training this year which was very sporting of him. He loves the game and has been great for it.

“We’ll just go over there and do the best we can.”
