Givemefive, who carries the colours of Smash Racing which includes golfers Brooks Koepka and Grame McDowell, is an intriguing UK raider in the Grade 3 WillowWarm Hurdle at Fairyhouse tomorrow where he will hope to confirm recent placings with a couple of rivals.
The Harry Derham-trained gelding will again meet fellow UK challenger Dodger Long, trained by Harriet Dickin, and Bottler’secret after they filled the first three places at Cheltenham last month.
Derham said, “We are delighted to be heading back to Fairyhouse with Givemefive.
“He obviously won at Cheltenham at the start of the season which was great and I’m quite keen to keep him in four-year-old company until the turn of the year until he’s a little bit older and stronger.
“This race fitted in well and there was no four-year-old race for him in England.
“It will be a competitive race and he has to give weight to some unexposed rivals but we’re looking forward to running him.
“Graeme McDowell and Brooks Koepka sadly won’t be able to come but they’ll be watching in from Florida. They’ve had a great journey with Givemefive so far and they really enjoy the ownership.
“What a horse he’s been for their first horse and hopefully he can keep the story going.”
Bottler’secret got the better of Givemefive when the pair met over course and distance in the Grade 2 O’Driscoll’s Irish Whiskey Juvenile Hurdle on testing ground last Easter, while Willie Mullins is represented by a promising French import Anzadam.
