Folsom the stand out name for Thurles Grade 2

Conor O'Dwyer's exciting Folsom Blue is the stand out name among fourteen horses entered for the Grade 2 Boylesports.com Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle at Thurles on Thursday.

The Old Vic gelding who is out of top race mare Spirit Leader won his last three races, including impressive victories over 2m 6f at Thurles and in Listed company at Clonmel earlier this month.

The 5yo gelding holds an entry in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Hurdle over 3m at the Cheltenham Festival.

Champion trainer Willie Mullins has six horses entered the 2m 4f contest.

Toostrong, Pickapocketortwo and The Bosses Cousin look to hold his main hopes while Ceol Rua, Hats And Heels and Vesper Bell complete his sextet.

The Tony Mullins trained Bridgets Pet, who stayed on strongly to win his maiden hurdle over 2m 3f at Naas recently, is another interesting entry while the Charlie Swan trained Make A Track, who ran well to finish fifth behind Citizenship in Boylesports.com Hurdle could also take his chance.

Lyreen Legend, who ran a cracker to finish second to Boston Bob at Leopardstown last time out is another possible runner.

The Jim Culloty trained Spring Heeled, Noel Meade's Texas Jack, Seamus Fahey's Caolaneoin and Jimmy Mangan's Castle Wings complete the line-up.
