Shane Foley gave Bay Knight a well judged front-running ride to claim the Mocklershill Stables Race at Tipperary.
Ken Condon 's charge made every yard and stayed on strongly when asked for a effort a furlong-and-a-half from home. Good Time Sue came through to take second inside the final furlong but was never reaching the 9/2 winner, who recorded a cosy two-and-a-half length victory.
The winner looked well treated at the weights but was recording his first victory since last July.
"He's been busy but has been struggling a bit in handicaps," said Condon.
"The handicapper has a hold on him and he's still a few pounds higher than his last winning mark.
"The conditions of the race suited perfectly and he escaped a penalty. They should have more of these races.
"He liked the ground which is good and safe."
