Two former Irish trained geldings make their debuts for new connections in the opening 4yo maiden hurdle at Plumpton this afternoon.

Hawkhill, who is now trained by Tim Vaughan, was sold to current connections for £10,000 at the Doncaster Bloodstock Sales last October from Mick Halford's yard.

The son of Hawk Wing won four times on the level for Halford and also ran in three maiden hurdles.

On his hurdling debut at Leopardstown in December of 2010 he finished a good fifth behind Hidden Universe but failed to deliver on that promise on his next start at Thurles where he finish sixth behind The Pier.

After that Thurles effort he went back on the level but had his last run in Ireland over hurdles where he ran a nice race to finish third, just six and a half lengths behind Flycorn at Tipperary in October.

Richard Johnson will take the ride on the gelding who will be well fancied to score here.

The other form Irish trained horse making their UK debut is the Venetia Williams trained Duaiseoir.

This six year old son of Bachelor Duke won twice on the level here when trained by Jim Bolger at Dundalk over a 1m 2f and at Gowran over 1m.

On his last run for Bolger he finished second in a handicap at the Curragh over a 1m 2f behind Luttrell Lady in June of 2010.

Aidan Coleman takes the ride on the gelding who is probably best watched considering his long absence from the track.

Bookermaker Paddy Powers have installed Hawkhill the 3/1 joint favourite for the 2m contest this afternoon alongside the Nicky Henderson trained Western Approaches while Duaiseoir is a 9/1 chance.
