Relieved Of Duties sprinted clear after the second last to post an impressive victory in the INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

Gordon Elliott 's charge had been beaten a nose by Artic Lane on his hurdling debut at Thurles late last month and made no mistake today.

Jordan Gainford bounced out in front on the 3/1 shot and asked him for an effort after the penultimate flight.

The Sholokhov gelding soon kicked clear and went on to post an easy 15-length success.

Gainford said:- "I was going to make plenty use of him and his jumping was very good. They came to me turning into the straight, I gave him a squeeze and he picked up well.

"I thought I got it very easy the whole way around and when the other lads came to me entering the home straight, I said I'd have one go and it worked.

“He has won a point to point so his jumping is obviously an asset to him."
