Mizzah completed a double at the Curragh for Kevin Prendergast and Chris Hayes as he took the last, the Keadeen Hotel Maiden.

Seventh on his debut over the course and distance last August, the son of Invincible Spirit was then a good third to Blue De Vega on his next start at Naas.

He disappointed on his final start as a two-year-old, finishing sixth of eleven to Tribal Beat again at Naas.

Having opened at 9/2 on-course he was well-supported today and went off the 7/2 second favourite in the colours of Hamdan Al Maktoum (also completing a double).

Settled in mid-division he travelled well in sixth at the halfway stage. He was pushed along to challenge with under two furlongs to race, and hit the front from the furlong pole, keeping on well from there to score by three and three parts of a length. Fainleog finished second at 66/1 for Annemarie and Adrian O’Shea, while Ionization (25/1) was a further two and three parts of a length back in third under Declan McDonogh for Pat Shanahan. Footbridge was sent off the 2/1 favourite and he finished a disappointing eleventh under Pat Smullen for Dermot Weld.

Kevin Prendergast, who was earlier on the mark with Awtaad said afterwards: "It's been a good day. He's a nice horse. He had a bit of an issue last year as he fractured his pelvis on his last run at Naas.

"He had run very well before that when he was third. He came on well and wintered well.

"He got over his complaint and hopefully can continue. He was working well and had it on paper."
