Gordon Elliott ran two in the opening rated hurdle at Wexford and they fought out the finish with As Tears Go By (13/2) just shading the verdict over the long absent I A Connect
Corey McGivern set out to make all on Mrs Caren Walsh's Vadamos gelding who had won under similar tactics at Clonmel earlier this month on his first start of the year. I A Connect, not seen since last year's Punchestown festival, tracked the leader throughout and gained a narrow advantage after the second-last but the winner found a bit more on the run-in to score by a neck.
"He is a nice horse and the horses are running well," said Elliott who was recording his sixth winner of the week after a profitable couple of days at Ballinrobe.
"Corey gave him a lovely ride and I’ll try and find another suitable race for him now.”
