Kid is back Rockin & Rollin
Danny Mullins threaded a path through from the back of the field on Rock And Roll Kid in a fiercely competitive Leopardstown.com Handicap and his efforts saw the six-year-old land the spoils for his father Tony and owner Barry Connell.
Of course hero of the hour in the Tote Galway Mile in July 2009 but without success since, Rock And Roll Kid stayed on gamely under a strong drive from Mullins to beat Dawariya (Johnny Murtagh got a four day careless riding ban) by a length.
Tony Mullins said: "He's competitive off that sort of rating. He got put up to a rating of 105 or 6 for a season and a half and he just wasn't competitive off it.
"We had hoped that he'd make a Listed horse and we tried him but he just wasn't able for it.
"Hopefully he won't go back over 100 now. The fact that he won over a mile and one there opens things up for him and Danny said that he might get a mile and two in that sort of company.
"We'll see what's left for him now and there might be a handicap for him over a mile next weekend at the Curragh (the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Handicap for horses rated 60-100 over a mile on Sunday the 11th)."
