Paul Carberry has been confirmed as having suffered a broken left leg in a fall from Rich Coast in the opener at Listowel this afternoon.
In this Allman Contracts Limited Beginners Chase, only four of the nine completed.
Carberry came to grief at the very first fence aboard Rich Coast, and his treatment and removal to hospital in Tralee necessitated a fourteen minute delay for the following Charlie Chute Memorial (Q.R.) Handicap Chase.
Carberry expects to be sidelined for at least three months after breaking his left leg in a fall at Listowel on Saturday.
The 41-year-old was taken to Tralee Hospital and he underwent surgery on the injury on Saturday evening.
He tweeted: "Op went well. Off now three to four months, will go insane. Thanks everyone for the well wishes."
Meanwhile Robbie Power was stood for the day after his spill from Gambling Girl at the penultimate fence.
That one's trainer Jessica Harrington said: "Robbie got a kick in the back but he's alright. He's what I would call walking-wounded.
"He needs to get an x-ray on his back before he rides again."
