Clonmel Thu, 16th May, 2024  Woodstream Lad He’s been a super little horse, and I just couldn’t run him on real winter ground. I thought today with the rain getting into it that it might catch him out and I don’t think he jumped as confident as he could have done. I’d say they went plenty quick in front, and he ended up further back than you would like. It worked out well and Phidelma gets on well with him and her 7lb claim. I actually bought him for her to ride as a bit of fun in handicaps and then John Leckey came on board to purchase him. His Leopardstown run at Christmas was very good and then we hoped he might sneak into the two-mile handicap at Punchestown but the entries were incredible. It’s our first winner of the season. I know it’s only three weeks but it seems like a long time. Phidelma is a hard grafter and is part of a really good team I have with many senior staff. I’m very fortunate to have them and just try to man the fort.

Tipperary Wed, 15th May, 2024  Ballygunner Castle He’s a fine stamp of a horse. I couldn’t get him to go fast enough in front. He’s not a quick horse and this is a tight track. He’s done well to win in the circumstances, and he has a beautiful pedigree but it’s all three miles. He looks like a staying chaser in time. He’s going on his holidays now and I think there is a lot to look forward to.

Killarney Mon, 13th May, 2024  Early Doors That was great and we'll head on to Listowel now, which is the next one,. The spring and the nicer ground is a big factor to him and he then has that bit of class. It is great to win a race with him again and Derek gave him a masterful ride again - he is a diamond.

Tipperary Thu, 9th May, 2024  Grange Soldier He jumped great, it was a good performance and got a great ride but it was a pity for Pa King who unfortunately couldn't be here today, as he did all the work with the horse. I was keen to keep somebody who knew the horse to ride him and Barry had finished second on the horse in the past so we had a good replacement. He is finished now for the summer.

Ballinrobe Tue, 7th May, 2024  Coillte Aris It's grand to win like that. I fancied her the last twice but she's always worked a lot better than she ran. Hopefully there might be another one in her and maybe the better ground helped. They're a great bunch of lads (I'm Going To No Home Syndicate) from Mullingar and I'm delighted for them.

Punchestown Sun, 14th Jan, 2024  Lisnagar Fortune the penny is dropping a little bit with him and on form he was entitled to win after the run in Mallow (Cork racecourse). He's just taken a while to come to hand and learn his jumping and things. I thought today was the best he has jumped and he'll progress away. From getting beaten a few times he has plenty of experience going forwards. He'll end up going further but he was too keen. He's starting to race now and to learn. He'll end up going back out in trip in time but I'm not sure if it's the right time yet.
