Leopardstown Wed, 10th Apr, 2024  Saffronandblue it's a pleasant surprise as we were just hoping he'd run a nice race. I thought he had grown up a bit mentally over the winter from his previous run in Gowran and was looking forward to seeing how he'd run but I couldn't honestly say I thought he'd win. Fast Companys generally handle that ground and we were banking on that. I told him (Ronan Whelan) to ride him with a bit of patience and to finish well. In that grade they can't keep it up if they go too fast early on.

Dundalk Wed, 14th Feb, 2024  Yokkell Yokkell is super and would nearly make you emotional. She's just very genuine and very tough. She's a winner. A mile-and-a-half is probably her trip and that extended 1m2f is just long enough. She doesn't owe us anything but you wouldn't know where she could end up on Good Friday, maybe at Newcastle. Hopefully, she can't be hit too hard by the handicapper. Siobhan gets on very well with her and gave her a peach of a ride just in behind the leaders. I think she knew from halfway down the straight she was going to get up. They are a very good team.

Leopardstown Sun, 4th Feb, 2024  Lord Erskine Darragh knows him well and was very good on him. I was a bit worried about the ground but Darragh said it was no problem. I could never get him into a good race with a light weight and it was the same on the Flat. He’d a proper weight on his back today and there was a good gallop which suited him. His (late) owner Jerry Nolan was a pure gentleman. I rode winners for him and having an owner like him, you couldn’t buy them. He was easy to train for. This place has been good to me as a jockey and a trainer.
